There are many causes of paper discoloration, the most common including issues related to humidity or water. When paper gets exposed to water, mold and acid discoloration can be the result. Sunlight, smoke, and other environmental elements also be damaging.
When mold and acid occur on a piece of art, they tend to pervade the artwork in a random way throughout the piece. At The Master Restorer, we have the skill and experience to resolve these issues. We are unique in that we guarantee that once acid and discoloration are removed from a piece of art, it will never reappear. There are very few other restoration sites in the world that can make this claim.
We do not use extreme methods or corrosive chemicals to resolve these issues, like so many other restoration sites do. On the contrary, we carefully preserve the original integrity of each piece to resolve mold and acid occurrence so that we can insure the longevity of our clients’ artwork.
