The majority of restoration professionals would agree that paper is the most difficult medium to restore. Many restorers simply aren’t able to perform restoration or conservation of paper.
Prior to the year 1970, the acidification process wasn’t well understood, and archival materials weren’t often used for preserving valuable documents. Gustavo Perez is an expert in this area and uses many of his own techniques when working with rips, creases, tears, and paper depletion.
